There is this general belief among the ill-informed (mostly liberals) that unions somehow benefit all workers in the U.S. That may have been true 100 years ago when unions made headway into workers rights. But in those days, the rights of workers were so inhibited, that they could barely pass as human rights. The recent decision in Wisconsin dealt a blow to unions and so called collective bargaining.
So who cares? According to this source, which is a relatively recent article, the percentage of U.S. workers who belong to a union is less than 13%. That means that less than 1 in 7 working persons in the U.S. at the time of this article was covered by some kind of union. So the reality of today is that relatively few workers have a union standing behind them. This makes the union folks nothing more than a special interest group. And it’s odd that these union bosses resemble the thug-like ‘copper bosses’ that the unions fought so hard against long ago. Like this union rep who struck a 5 foot 1 woman who was filming the scene.
Michelle Malkin has a full story on this goon at her site here. Sorry Unions. You don’t represent American values any more. Step aside and take your place in the annals of history where you belong.
I am fed up with liberals and their perverse ideas about how the law should be used. Liberals like Michael Ratner are the reason that our legal system is as clogged as Oprah’s arteries. He contends that Bush needs to be ‘prosecuted’ for torture during his presidency for the waterboarding affair. Even though he is advocated this to be done in Switzerland, it’s still a useless game. What are they going to do? Extradite him to some leftist EU country?
Listen up liberals. Conservatives are sick and tired of your “Blame Bush” games. George W Bush may not have been the best president, but he was certainly better than that poor excuse for a leader we have now. He did what he thought was necessary to protect the U.S. against terrorist. Liberals like Ratner seem to forget that terrorists killed 3,000 people in 2001. A debt is still owed for that and waterboarding was what they deserved (and more).
All that aside, isn’t it time to stop blaming Bush? The Blame Bush game is a poor ploy to take the attention off the real problems we have now: Barack Obama and his cronies. Shame on CNN for carrying this piece of liberal editorial shit and double shame on Google on front-paging it!
The ‘Cry me a River Express’ is now crying about this factoid from Washington State.
Washington is one of just a handful of states that allows illegals to get Driver Licenses. A practice that has long drawn the ire of conservatives in the state. I mean why why why? For one thing, this sends the message out that illegals can get easily set up here. Might as well hang a sign at the border: Illegals – Proceed Directly to Washington State. It also diminishes the status of the Driver License as an authoritative piece of identification for important personal matters – such as getting a passport or getting housing.
I have no doubt this loophole is the reason for this ‘sudden increase’ in illegals. There are new bills floating in the state legislature which would close this loophole. There have been efforts in the past but they have failed due to various liberal special interests. Democrats have in the past, been all too willing to let special interest groups – like the “State Commission on Hispanic Affairs” – pull their puppet strings. However, these bills were authored by a Democrat so it’s possible the state’s Democrats may be moving to center on this issue. One can only hope anyway.
In the strange world of the liberal mind, corporate ethos are only OK when they favor liberals and their perverted standards. Liberals would say nothing if Chick-fil-A had a policy supportive of gay rights to marriage. They would be completely silent if Chick-fil-A for example, donated money for their annual perverted “pride” parades. But they don’t. Chick-fil-A is a conservative corporation which is brave enough to take a stand against the right of perverts to marry. So what? Get over it liberals.
It’s an opinion. Get over it.
Corporations don’t have the same rights as individuals, this is true. But the people that make up Chick-fil-A and the people who are its customers, certainly do. Liberals don’t have to eat the food if they don’t want but Chick-fil-A is entitled to have its standard just as any corporation does. Here in this liberal cesspool of a state (WA) there is only one Chick-fil-A location that I know of – in Bellingham. I will make a point to visit it next time I am up that way and buy a meal from them. I will also gladly leave a donation if that option is available.
Atlas Shrugged is finally coming to film. I guess I am going to wait to get excited about it. After all, a film is a film and not a book. The book Atlas Shrugged, delved so deeply into objectivist themes and the theme is so interwoven, that I cannot help but wonder how and if, this can be translated onto the screen. IMO, the Lord of the Rings trilogy suffered on the big screen – at least the stories and themes of the books. The true character of the books, only somewhat came through. LOTR got away with it, however, largely on the wheels of spectacular special effects and breathtaking scenery. Not sure they can pull that same act with Atlas Shrugged.
It’s interesting to note that, technically, this film has been in planning for almost 40 years. There is a Wikipedia Page devoted to reading about what it refers to as “Development Hell“. I will go back and read this book again now, as I have not read it for many years. I first read it in high school (those liberal teachers let us read anything) for a course in Anthropology of all things. I’ve re-read it twice but it’s been awhile and time to have another go at it. Anyway, I am feeling somewhat ambivalent about the film adaptation although I will certainly go to see it. If nothing else, the time is right for such a message!
I was unaware that the State of Hawaii had banned prayer in the State Senate. When I read this, it didn’t surprise me that the God hating ACLU was behind it. These 9 senators circumvented the so called “ban” by holding their prayer service right before the daily session went live. Take that ACLU!
A group of nine Hawaii senators held hands, bowed their heads and sought God’s blessing Wednesday, signaling that they’ll still pray despite a vote last week to abandon official invocations. Fears of court challenges compelled the state Senate to end prayers, making it the first legislative body in the nation to do so. The informal prayer Wednesday took place in the Senate chamber before the daily lawmaking session, convened in such a way so as not to contradict the decision to remove invocations from Senate business.
I am tired of the so called ‘reality shows’ on TVs. And they seem to be popping up on more and more channels. Fortunately, we can avoid the worst ones by blocking certain cable channels: Bravo, MTV, MTV2, VH1, to name the worst offenders. While the direction of TV entertainment continues to spiral downward, it may have finally hit bottom.
Hmm, nah, but I can dream can’t I?
The MTV show “Skins” which features teenagers in sex driven situations, has rightfully raised the ire of the Parents Television Council (PTC). Last week they sent a letter to the U.S Department of Justice along with the U.S. Senate and House Judiciary Committees charging the show with child pornography.
That hasn’t had much effect on the degenerates at Viacom, but the latest development might. According to TMZ, several huge sponsors of the show are pulling the plug on their MTV sponsorship. Some big names such as Subway, Taco Bell, Wrigley, General Motors, Schick, and H&R Block cashed out of this MTV shit show. The PTC might not sink the show, but the sponsorship black eye should give those degenerates something to think about.
